I am a licensed psychotherapist and relationship specialist based in Santa Barbara, CA. I have a private practice working with couples and individuals to address relationship issues, anxiety, depression, addiction, and life transitions. I blend neuroscience and theory with warmth and humor to help make positive and enlivening changes in my client’s lives and relationships. My aim is clear – we feel more capable, productive, loved, and life is all-around better when our relationships are healthy. My job is to help guide you there.
I have been helping individuals and couples thrive past limiting circumstances, resolve painful conflicts, and create happier, more fulfilling lives and relationships - since 2001.
I earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Santa Barbara, and during my formal education, I completed a two-year internship in alcohol and drug rehabilitation and was trained in family therapy. I have also taught classes and developed courses in addiction and dual diagnosis for Santa Barbara City College and wrote a dual diagnosis psychoeducation treatment plan for a local recovery medical center.
I am fortunate to have trained with and learned from great innovators in the therapeutic field and discipline of interpersonal neurobiology, including Dr. Stan Tatkin - developer of (PACT) the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy. I am honored to be a Certified PACT Couple Therapist, and I consult for other therapists, on their most difficult cases, world-wide.
My work is also informed by a Family Constellation approach to address ancestral trauma and heal underlying and often hidden dynamics that cause problems in relationships. I am a self proclaimed “therapy snob”. I know how important the work in therapy is, and I feel it is vital for me to be at the top of my game and engaged with the cutting edge of science for my field. I consistently attend to my own personal growth and self-study and I apply it all to my own life and relationships.
